Background

Hege Ulbrich was born and raised in Oslo, Norway. Growing up, she was immersed in an active environment that included cross-country skiing, sports and hiking. She went on to attend a specialized athletic high school, that focused on physical enhancement through the outdoors. While still in high school she became a fitness instructor, teaching dance aerobics and HIIT classes.

Venturing out

She found her way to the U.S. by working as a Cultural Representative in the Norwegian Pavilion at Walt Disney World’s Epcot Center. Here is where she learned to speak English fluently and eventually met Michael, her future husband. After her year at Disney, Hege attended college at BI Norwegian Business School, where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in International Marketing. After college, she worked in digital advertising for Firstborn in NYC and Adam&EveDDB in London, where she lived with her husband.

In London, the couple had their first daughter, and Hege decided to leave her job and become a full-time mom. After realizing London wasn’t where they wanted to set down roots, they moved back to the U.S. to Buffalo, NY, Michael’s hometown. Shortly after the move, Hege became pregnant with her second daughter. She now lives in Williamsville, NY with her husband and two daughters, ages 7 and 9.

Fitness Journey

Hege has always loved being active. Running is her outlet, but she also loves strength training, yoga and Peloton. After having two healthy pregnancies, both of which she contributes to her active lifestyle, she decided to further pursue her passion and turn it into a career.

In 2014, while pregnant with her second daughter, Hege completed her Personal Training certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. She went on to complete her Women’s Fitness Specialization in 2016 and in 2018 became a Certified Specialist in Pre and Post Natal Corrective Exercise through the Fit for Birth program. In 2018 Hege formed Core Restore Fitness LLC. She further deepened her specialization in 2020 by becoming a Pre and Post Natal Performance Training Specialist through PROnatal Fitness.

Hege’s passion for motherhood and fitness is undeniable. She hopes to bring this energy along with her own personal experiences with pregnancy, birth and postnatal care to Core Restore Fitness in order to help others.
